How old do you have to be to get a tattoo?
You must be 18 or older, no exceptions. Government-issued photo ID will be checked.
Can I get tattooed if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. We don’t tattoo during pregnancy or while breastfeeding for safety reasons.
Prices vary depending on the piece and whether it’s charged hourly or as a day session. We’ll always discuss costs clearly before confirming your booking. Multiple day sittings will always be discounted, as will convention pieces and free-rein designs. For more info about this, shoot us a message – we attend conventions frequently!
Yes, your appointment is only confirmed once a deposit is paid in full. Deposits are non-refundable. You’ll be sent a full deposit policy during the booking process.
Do you offer in-person consultations?
Yes! Most of the time, the booking process can be completed via email/direct messages but if you would prefer the initial enquiry to be face-to-face this can be arranged.
All of our work is appointment only. This allows us to give each client proper time, focus, and preparation.
I want a tattoo, but I’m not sure on the specifics
If you’re not sure what tattoo to get, meaningful or just something cool, we can have a discussion to see what ideas might work best for you.
If you have a broad theme in mind or are open to total free-rein, let us know! Being open to a creative piece with fewer restrictions usually means we’ll discount the tattoo!
Some cover-ups may be possible depending on the piece, however we may recommend some laser removal treatment before any cover-up work commences. If you have a tattoo that needs covering, feel free to send us a picture in the booking form and we can advise.
I’m taking medication – can I still get tattooed?
Generally it should be fine, but always inform us of any allergies or medications that may affect the tattooing process, and when necessary it is your responsibility to check with a medical professional whether you are cleared for any tattooing procedure.
Can I drink alcohol before or after my tattoo?
Do not drink alcohol within 48 hours of your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood and can negatively affect the tattooing process. If you arrive to your appointment under the influence of alcohol (or drugs!) we reserve the right to cancel and rearrange your appointment and your deposit is forfeit.
You also shouldn’t drink alcohol excessively after your appointment as it can negatively affect the healing process.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Avoid sunburn, get a good night’s sleep, eat beforehand, stay hydrated, shower, and wear comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting ink on. Bring some food and snacks, and also something to pass the time can help too.
Tattoo preparation is very important and we’ll send you a full prep guide prior to your appointment.
Can I use numbing cream or take painkillers?
We don’t recommend numbing creams or taking painkillers before your appointment.
Numbing creams affect how the skin takes ink, and negatively effects the healing process. They also often wear off part-way through longer sessions which causes a sudden onset of tattoo pain, where normally the body’s natural adrenaline has had time to build up and counteract some of the pain. In our experience this often leads to clients wanting to cut sessions short.
Painkillers can increase bleeding and impact healing and are not recommended for the tattooing process. However, taking Ibuprofen after the session is usually OK and can also be useful to reduce any swelling.
Should I shave before my appointment?
Generally there’s no need – We’ll take care of that if necessary. Shaving beforehand can sometimes irritate the skin. However in some instances we will recommend shaving prior to your appointment, but we’ll let you know!
Can I bring anybody with me to my appointment?
Unfortunately, no guests are allowed with you during your tattoo appointment.
This also includes children. If you have any children, please arrange childcare in advance.
Yes – all of the inks that we use are vegan-friendly.
Will you design the tattoo before I book?
Upcoming bookings of course take priority, often months in advance, meaning we do not have time to create drafts for pieces that are not in the diary with a paid deposit.
Our artists work in order of upcoming appointments, but aim to have each design ready a few days in advance. If you’d like to see your design before the morning of your appointment feel free to ask, but be aware that it may not be ready just yet if you’re an eager beaver!
We are of course happy to make tweaks to designs, however if a design brief changes drastically, a new deposit may be required to cover the time spent working on a new design.
Please be available to respond to messages in the lead up to your appointment in case any amendments need to be made.
I’m running late for my appointment – what should I do?
Always let me know as soon as possible if you’re running late for your appointment. We know life happens and I’ll always try to make things work for you and your appointment!
If you arrive more than one hour late without prior notice, you may still be charged from the scheduled appointment time regardless of when you arrive, or could lose your appointment and deposit entirely should you arrive very late (or not at all).
How do I care for my new tattoo?
Aftercare varies depending on the tattoo and placement. There is a general aftercare guide on the site here, and We’ll also provide detailed aftercare instructions on the day of your appointment.
Can I exercise after getting tattooed?
Light activity is usually fine after a few days, but heavy training, friction, swimming and sweating should be avoided until healing is well underway.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and bank transfer. Full payment of your deposit is required to confirm your booking and the balance is due on the day. If your project requires multiple days, your deposit will be taken off the final sitting.
